?️To expand humanity beyond the solar system?️

Vast (Vast Space) was founded in 2021 by Jed McCaleb with the goal of developing the world's first privatized, commercial, crewed space station (https://internationalfinance.com/vast-eyes-formation-worlds-first-private-space-station/)

Expected customers include: domestic and international space agencies and private individuals involved in science and philanthropic projects ?

Current Equipment:
-E-2: 3d printed rocket engines
-Orbiter: orbital transfer vehicle, can approach/depart spacecraft and carry payload, space tug to "help test key systems" (https://interestingengineering.com/innovation/space-station-startup-vast-acquires-launcher) for its Haven-1
-Haven-1: planned zero gravity space station in low Earth orbit, conducting artificial gravity experiments "to mimic the amount of gravity one would experience on the Moon" (https://spacenews.com/vast-space-intro/). Haven-1 is planned to initially act as an independent crewed space station, with it later being connected to a "larger" space station that is also currently in development. Station will be launched around/after August 2025 (expecting visitors in 2026) (https://lbbusinessjournal.com/aerospace/vast-space-space-station-spacex-have-1/)
-"Starship-Class Module": Starship-oriented space station, could be operational by 2028
-plans to build station fleet in 2040s

Recent news:
-February 2023: acquired space startup Launcher (https://www.cnbc.com/2023/02/21/jed-mccalebs-vast-acquires-launcher.html) (including employees), with founder & CEO Max Haot becoming president of Vast (https://www.linkedin.com/in/maxhaot/)
-May 2023: partnered with Elon Musk's SpaceX (https://techcrunch.com/2023/05/10/jed-mccalebs-space-station-vast/), plans to launch 1st single-module space station Haven-1 on Falcon 9 rocket around August 2025 (https://www.space.com/vast-space-private-station-spacex-launch-2025). After is a plan for crewed flight to Haven-1, called Vast-1
-June 2023: SN3 mission launched Orbiter aboard SpaceX's Falcon 9 (https://finance.yahoo.com/news/latest-billionaire-rocket-man-vasts-204936738.html), Orbiter attached to Starfish Space's Otter Pup and later separated. However, on June 21st, Vast president Max Haot stated that the Orbiter SN3 was "improperly" spinning at 60 rpm. As a result, they elected to immediately deploy all the small sat payloads on board and then stated that Otter Pup's primary mission "can't be accomplished" so the "failure" caused the mission delay until February 2024. Vast received a Collaborations for Commercial Space Capabilities-2 (CCSC-2) agreement from NASA to help develop artificial gravity stations in which NASA will provide technical expertise, assessments, data, etc. Vast selected Impulse Space to develop Haven-1's Saiph propulsion system (https://www.voxelmatters.com/vast-selects-impulse-space-for-haven-1-space-station-propulsion/)
-July 2023: hired former NASA astronaut and former director of space operations for SpaceX Garrett Reisman (https://spacenews.com/former-nasa-astronaut-to-advise-vast-on-commercial-space-station-efforts/) to advise company on commercial space station efforts. A few weeks later, Vast announced Jeb McCaleb stepped down as CEO, and Max Haot would replace him. Vast also announced that it had hired Alex Hudson to be its first CTO (https://www.vastspace.com/updates/vast-appoints-max-haot-as-its-new-ceo-and-alex-hudson-as-its-first-cto) (former VP of Avionics at SpaceX) (https://www.linkedin.com/in/amjhudson/)

?️ Jed and his commitment, and the fact that we not only have a single founder that is our single investor, but that he has the resources and the commitment to see us through this whole flight?️
-MAX HAOT

?️Humans are using at most 2% of the Earth’s mass. This means there are 23,200 times the amount of mass used by humans out there in the solar system. Or roughly enough resources for 232 trillion humans... Ultimately, our contributions will enable something akin to a way station for human habitation that orbits the moon – maybe even Mars. By pushing our frontiers and expanding our habitat into the vastness of space, we may actually preserve Earth for thousands of years and generations to come?️
