Soiuz (also spelled Soyuz or Союз) is the Russian word for “union" and is a series of spacecraft which has been in service since the 1960s, having made more than 140 flights. The Soyuz launches from Kazakhstan and takes just 6 hours to reach the International Space Station (ISS)
For years, the only method of delivering crew to the ISS was the Soyuz craft, leading NASA to purchase 71 seats for nearly $4 billion for their astronauts. While the ISS is expected to cease operations around 2025 due to President Trump's request, Jed McCaleb is building a commercial space station:
Jed McCaleb announces on 30 March 2022 SDF Tech Talk call that he is building a commercial space station (https://t.me/QuantumStellarInitiative/7253)
Jed McCaleb's space habitation company, Vast, emerged publicly last fall with a plan to build space stations that featured artificial gravity and acquired Launcher, a space startup (https://t.me/QuantumStellarInitiative/20112)
?? The SOIUZ project is being funded by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to explore space, the moon, as well as other planets, and soon civilians will be able to fly into space as well ⚡️‼️
Funding this project will mark the beginning of a new stage of space exploration!
